Jalusa Correia was a beautiful woman, brunette with vast black hair, she also had magnificent green eyes that enchanted everyone. At seventeen she got married and had two children, who were for some time her reason for existence.
When she was about to complete her twenty-third birthday, a tragedy befell her, her husband and children died in a dreadful train accident and overnight she became an immensely sad and lonely person. For many years she carried the weight on her conscience for not being with them at that time.
She blamed herself intimately because on that fateful day she had been seriously ill and had not wanted to accompany them on the little trip they made each month to the neighboring town.
Remorse tortured her as if with that she could reduce the size of her pain.
Ten years passed until Jalusa smiled again, despite her heart in tatters. It was during this period that Jorge appeared in her life. The young widower soon fell in love with the lonely and charming woman. Knowing the trauma she had experienced, he was sure he had found the mother his daughter needed. Little Lourdes was orphaned very early and at just six years old she could not forget the death of her mother, becoming a fragile and frightened child.
It didn't take long for them to get married. In the beginning Jalusa was exemplary, as a mother and wife, suddenly, without understanding the reason, she started to hate the little girl. Lourdes irritated her, every word she said entered her ears as an offense. The girl was beaten for anything, it was paddles, beatings from vines and hair pulling that left her completely sore. Afraid to tell her father what happened in her absence, Lourdes became more and more bitter and sad every day. Her only moments of joy were the walks she took with her father. Whenever Jorge asked what was going on, she lied saying she missed her mother.
Jalusa's hatred for the child only increased, each time the girl got close to her, the memory of her own children tormented her: - How can such an indecent creature be here, live beside me, and my beautiful children, dead? - It was always in those moments that the girl was most attacked.
One day Jorge decided to make a surprise and return home earlier. As he entered slowly so as not to be noticed, he heard the screams: - Get out, bitch! -accompanied by the sound of a slap-he opened the door just as his daughter was thrown against a corner of the wall. In a flash, he realized everything that had been going on in his absence. He ran up to the woman and slapped her resentfully demanding that she leave the house immediately.
From that day forward, Jalusa started to live on the streets, begging and cursing all the children who passed by her. Sometimes he cried a lot, but soon he got up and laughed aloud. On a night of intense cold, his spirit was ripped from his body and taken to dark areas where for many years he sought answers to past wounds in life. After having contact with his past lives, he realized the mistakes he made in each incarnation where she was always the cause of great harm caused to children and begged for help to compensate for his faults.
Today, in the fluid outfit of Pomba-Gira das Sete Saias, she always looks for a way to serve those who seek her out with sympathy and affection. Those who know her on land are aware of her predilection for young mothers and the respect she has for all children. She is finally on her way to a grand evolution.
