This book arose from a project by the Associação Umbandista e Espiritualista do Estado de São Paulo (AUEESP) with the aim of offering umbandistas a practical manual to help them perform better in their temples or terreiros and to guide mediums regarding their behavior. .
In this guide, the Umbanda practitioner will find tips and instructions on how to prepare the temples and the environment for work, organize work groups and events, carry out the behavioral preparation of the mediumistic current, the priest, the mediums, the ogãs, the cambones and the assistants. . Even those who have never entered an Umbanda temple, but intend to do so, here will find tips on how to behave in a sacred space like this.
The authors also dedicated themselves to preparing general instructions, combining the practice of worship with the Umbanda doctrine, presenting the cult dedicated to each of the orixás, as well as rituals, consecrations and various consecration services, as well as guidelines for the religious motivation of those who attend. Readers will also have access to the procedure for baptism, wedding and funeral ceremonies. This is a work that brings together several practices and makes the work of Umbanda leaders and mediums easier.
“This book is not intended to codify procedures, but rather to be a practical manual that will assist Umbanda mediums in their work and spiritual sessions. It is true that each center has its own particular way of conducting them, but many other practices can be added to make the cult more attractive and to open up new religious options for the consultants who, after being helped, tend to leave and only return when they feel in need of the help of spiritual guides.
